Young Men Basketball Game

     On January 30, 2014, a amazing moment happened at the 7:00 basketball game. We were going against Haven Cove and they haven't won a game in 7 years, which is pretty sad. As the Cherry Lane Ward we thought that it would be easy to beat their bottoms, but no no! They were for almost the whole game they were tied with us! Amazing! This was going to be a really close game. Since I'm a pretty good basketball player, Brother Scott, (coach) put me in almost the whole time because they needed me! I was not tired at all the whole game! So with about 1 minute on the clock the score is 23 - 24 and Haven Cove is winning! We new that something good was going to happen because we were not going to let Haven Cove win this game! So they have the ball at about 30 seconds left and we steal the ball back! So our team (Cherry Lane Ward), goes and gets set up and then Brennan, and 14 year old on our team goes and drives in for a lay up! Now if he makes this we would be one point ahead and we would need to have good defense and stop them to make a shot so then we would win, but if he doesn't make it, then we would basically lose! So he drives in and he goes in for a lay up and he jumps and I'm am usually always wide open in a game and at that time I was! So he went and did a shot fake and then passed it to me and I hurried and shot the ball and I made a SWISH!!! People were screaming and yelling of how good that shot was! So I made the shot at the 12 sec. mark, so we had about 10 seconds to have really tight defense and we did our best to have them not shoot the ball. 3..........2..........1..........0!!!!!!!!! The buzzer beeped and we finally won a game!!! We haven't won any other games beside this one and it was because of me!! Now we lost 4 and won 1! Because Brennan passed the ball at that time, and that I made that shot at that time, we won a game!!!!  

PVC Bows

    A Couple months ago for mutual us scouts made PVC Bows. We got all of our materials and started making them. All we did was we heated up the PVC pipes so they could bend and then squished them so the two ends would touch. Then we bended the ends of the PVC pipe  a certain way and distance. Then we made some notches on the ends to have a place for the rope. Then we put on the rope and made sure it would stay on. After that you test it out by pulling it back. Mine worked and then you some out with a PVC bow. This was pretty fun!

Celabration Park

    About two months ago my scout troop and I went to a campsite called Celebration Park. We got there and set up our campsite, like our tents, and other stuff. Then we got a fire going to get us warm because it was about ten degrees to about fifteen degrees. So we got warmed up and started cooking our Tin Foil Dinners. Then when they were done cooking we started eating them. It was pretty good. Then after that we just stayed by the fire for a few hours and talked about a lot of things. A few hours later we heard some coyotes howling. That was pretty cool! Then later some people went Jack Rabbit hunting, but me and my friend stayed by the fire. Then around about midnight we got in our tents and hit the hay.

 

    We woke up pretty early and started a fire so everyone would get warm. Then we took a break to go to the Snake River but it was frozen so we walked on a little bit of it. We then explored all around the river and started heading a different way were it was just lots of big and little rocks and it goes on for about 20 or 30 miles. So we went about one mile of rock climbing. That was really fun! Then soon later we got back from camp and talking by the fire again. After that we went bird hunting with sticks! That was really funny! Soon after that we started to eat some snacks and packing up and gathering our stuff to go home. We all finished packing and we set off back home! This trip was awesome! 

Soccer

    Just last Wednesday we played for mutual Soccer. It was so much fun! We were playing full court with chalkboards on each end for the goals. My team was winning at the start but then the other team started catching up and they won! One of the awesome things that I did was that someone tried to shoot a goal the person kicked the ball and I noticed the goalie wasn't there so I ran as fast as I could and right before it made a goal I kicked it away and everybody cheered! I felt so proud of myself because I did something that saved the team! That was the big moment or hit that night for the game! I couldn't believe that I did that! Even though I did that my team lost, but it was still lots of fun! When I got home that night, I was so happy and glad that I did that. Soccer in a gym is so much fun!

Hockey

    A few weeks ago for mutual we had Sports Night. This is when we go in the church gym and play basketball, soccer, or hockey. A few weeks ago we played hockey. There were a few people on each team. To score a goal you would have to have the puck to go under the chalkboard. So we started playing and it was pretty fun, because my team was winning! I scored a couple of points for my team and it probably helped a lot. Soon people were starting to get some blisters like me, but we didn't mind. Soon later more people started coming to play, then eventually there were like fifteen people were on each team and we were playing half court so we were all squished! So I just quit so I could go home. It was a pretty good game, but then soon later people started leaving to go home to. Then I arrived home and finished my day with some rest.

Klondike Campout

    A few weeks ago I went to a place called Klondike. This is a campsite that scout troops camp at. But here instead of tents, you sleep in a snow cave! This was pretty fun at the most part. We got there, and gathered all of our stuuf. Then we started building the snow caves. The one that we built was the biggest we have ever seen! That was preety fun. Then we ate dinner (which was very good), and then got ready for the night, like we finished our snow caves, got a fire going, and set upo our stuff. Then finnaly we hit the hay.

 

    We woke up pretty early and sat by the fire to get warm. We then soon had breakfast (which was also good), and had fun doing sled races! Then we had some fun breaking our snow cave! That was cool! Then we gathered our stuff and left after lunch, (which was also good). This trip was amazing!
